Why does the Ethertest Light permanently report "FAIL" on a healthy line?
The PROFINET standard uses four-core/two-pair cables. Because the Ethertest Light always checks for eight leads (TIA568) during a PROFINET test, the leads 4, 5, 7 and 8 are marked with an error. That's why the remaining leads 1, 2, 3 and 6 should not be interpreted.
